Assessment, Open Book, and Board of Review Notice for the Year 2021
Open Book: April 19, 2021 from 2:00pm-4:00pm
Open Book will be via phone or email ONLY due to COVID-19 restrictions known at present. This meeting presents property owners an opportunity to discuss, ask questions, or otherwise object to their property assessment.
Board of Review: May 25, 2021 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm
This will be an IN-PERSON meeting at Village Hall, 620 W Main St. Newburg, Wisconsin. This public meeting provides objectors an opportunity to object to their property assessment (with proper notice and other met requirements – speak with the assessor or clerk for more information), to present evidence and witnesses, and receive an informed decision from the Board of Review regarding the property assessment. The property owner must provide notice of intent to file an objection to the clerk at least 48 hours before the first scheduled BOR meeting.

6. | REVIEW PROCEDURES
– General Procedures.
– Video attendance at sworn testimony at BOR meetings are allowed under the condition that speakers show their government-issued photo ID as part of the video testimony and that requests to attend by video are submitted to the clerk at least 2 days in advance of the meeting. (Adopted at 2020-05-26)
-An attendee wishing to file an objection must provide the clerk 48-hours advance notice so that the assessor may pull records and discuss with the taxpayer before the meeting occurs. However, the assessor and an owner may jointly agree to waive the 48-hour time period before an objection hearing. (Adopted at 2020-05-26)
-Questions or concerns about the confidentiality of income and expense information shall be guided by Village of Newburg Ordinance 2017-06, specifically that the information is not subject to the right of inspection or copying other than for the assessor and others to discharge duties imposed by their office.
