On October 31st at Fireman's Park, the Village of Newburg Community Center and the Newburg Fire Department, hosted the First Annual Trunk-or-Treat. Despite the wind and chill, the event was a success! Trunk or Treat, a suggestion by our Village President, was well-attended by many families and children. While Halloween music played in the background, approximately 130 goodie bags and glow sticks were handed out to the kids. Families had the opportunity to vote on their favorite decorated trunk. This year's winner was "Santa Steve" Varisro and his wife Carla, who won a certificate for a free Community Center Rental. Those attending had a chance to win a jar of candy by guessing its contents. NFD was present with one of their fire engines as well. Everyone had a good time Trunk-or-Treating and enjoying the fun and scary decorations. Thank you to all who donated their time and candy to make this night special!
